A few weeks ago I made my way back to my old stomping grounds in Wisconsin... my reasoning? For my forever dear Emma's wedding. Ben and Emma couldn't be a better match, and I'm so proud and honored to say that I was the one they chose to stand by their side and capture one of the most memorable days in their lives. Their families are quite crafty.. and when I say crafty, I mean CRAFTY. They transformed Emma's Aunt's home and land into the perfect setting for their wedding. They also MADE all of the bouquets, flowers, center pieces, signs, decor, cake... you name it, they probably made it.
Two special pieces that made their wedding day so personal... 1- Emma's Aunt had painted their initials and wedding date on the coop in the backyard, which was the perfect backdrop for the guests to see when they first rounded the corner for the ceremony. Emma and Ben had no idea, so when it was pointed out, they both were so excited. The 2nd piece is Emma's grandmothers garter. Emma and her Grandmother were so unbeliveably close. Unfortunately, she passed before being able to witness her gorgeous Granddaughter marry the love of her life. Emma has her grandmothers name, in her very own signature, tattoo'd on her arm, which we were sure to make a forever memory and photograph the garter, Emma's dress and her grandmothers writing all in one.
Ben, as well as both parents, were eager for Emma to finally walk down the isle. I've never in all our years, seen Emma become so happy-emotional as she did when their eyes locked. She reeled it back in and kept it together, until she got to him. Just a few more... (ok a lot more) tears were to be had, but oh so very happy tears. You'll notice, Emma does this big smile-laugh-cry. That's when you know the love is real. And, it just fits her to a T.
I'm sure they won't be the last happy tears in their lives, but I am so grateful to have witnessed them. Love you both and can't wait for what your future has to bring!
